This is a page for showing some website examples. Some of the archived websites listed may not work quite right
(due to the nature of it not being the actual website.)
All my websites are made with a simple text editor. I do not use
special programs to make these sites, so they are a little more labor
intensive, but the allow me more control over how and what I can do.
I specialize in making sites optimized for efficiency and performance.
My sites load faster, and use less system resources than common
websites. My website code is much easier to read and modify than
websites that are generated with programs.
Adding things like custom graphics, animations, buttons, images, text,
and programming really bring a website to life. You may also notice
features and details overlooked by other website designers, such as the
email links on my pages. Click one of my email links, and notice that it
fills in the subject line too. This a handy little feature overlooked by
most website designers.

Some examples of my website design work.
Fortune:
This is an example of dynamically generated content. Its also kinda fun!
Currently disabled on new server
Doorbook:
A web gallery of images from the Doors of Expression booth in the Oregon Country fair. I created the entire site (everything but the pictures, and taglines for the pictures). notice the all the custom graphics, and site design. The design of the site was a collaboration of ideas and from members of the booth.
JIST:
Jamie's Imaging System with Thumbnails is what I created to make the
Doorbook with, It can be integrated with any website, its features are multiple image sizing, navigation controls toward the center of the screen (less moving the mouse around), modular (its highly customizable), Highly portable (can be built onto a cdrom, read of a hard disk, or run on any webserver (doesnt require any special services, like PHP, SQL, CGI, or SSL) It can be used for a variety of things, like a shopping cart system, gallery of images, ???
MECCA - AKA Materials Exchange:(archived)
I worked with Lizzy to re-design her website, she did have a website, but it was not very professional looking, and needed updating. She was great to work with, and would look forward to working with her on other projects. What I did for her was:
Create cohesion with her webpages (she had several pages, but had different backgrounds, fonts, and colors) I created a nice wood grained theme, re-designed her logo (not the concept, just the colors and look) made all the pages work nicely together, made custom buttons and nice mouseover code to animate the buttons. It all came together quite nicely, not too fancy, not to plain with colors and textures that exemplify "recycled materials". I even made her a custom animated "recycled bits" graphic.
The new Director has put up a new site, its can be found at: MECCA
Shivadas.com:
I worked with Steve a few years ago setting up his ecommerce/shopping
cart system, and working on his website (I didn't do any design work,
just optimized and cleaned up some ugly and broken code that front page
made for him.
He's since gone to a different system, so none of my work is still
available to see, but he has a great site, really colorful! He doesn't need any of my services anymore (he does it all himself), but we still stay in touch. If your in the market for his kind of products, please purchase it from him! his prices are low, the quality of workmanship is high, and he will help you get just what you need.
Oregon River Sports:
I worked with Kathy and Guy on this assignment. They were fun to work
with. I trained Kathy on basic html and file transfer so that she can maintain
the lovely site that a previous employee (Laura) had designed for them. Laura did such a nice job, I encouraged them to keep the layout and design the same, but just change the information that need updating, and when adding pages, make them have the same look and feel of the existing website. If you want to explore the rivers of Oregon, or need a kayak... check them out to see what they have to offer, they are nice folks and I'm sure they would be happy to set up up right.
Ezra the Bookfinder:
I've worked with Ezra on many occasions, fixing up his computers and his original website (the current one I have nothing to do with...). Ezra's a good guy, he works hard to find you the rare books you want. He's delightful to talk to and has many wonderful stories (and such good proper grammar!)
Communications Booth (Oregon Country Fair):
Back in 1995 I started volunteering at OPN. As a volunteer I was able to be involved with the wonderful people in the Doors of Expression Booth in the Community Village After the first year, I volunteered to redo their original website. I came up with this website (note this is an archive of the page I did, some links don't work, and its not been updated since 1996). It remained the website until 2001, when Jair volunteered to make a new website! I must say, its a pretty nice site!
More to come as I get time to update!
In the mean time have a look at some of my graphics.
